MORESCO-1 PLAYS HOST TO ERC-PHILRECA’S REVISED UNIFORM REPORTORIAL REQUIREMENT

Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental — The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) thru the Philippine Rural Electric Service Cooperative, Inc. (PHILRECA) roll-out a one day Training –Workshop for three days on Revised Uniform Reportorial Requirements for Regions 9 and 10 ECs on March 22, 23, 24 at the Emmanuel Pelaez Training Center Function Hall, MORESCO-1 this municipality.

The ERC recently revised the rules on pass-through charges to ensure the protection of all electricity consumers and promote transparency and accountability among the distribution utilities (DUs).

With the adoption of Resolution 14 Series of 2022 or “A Resolution Adopting the Revised Rules Governing the Automatic Cost Adjustment and True-Up Mechanisms and Corresponding Confirmation Process for Distribution Utilities,” the ERC said it would enable more transparent collection of pass-through costs or charges by DUs.

The new uniform reportorial requirement will allow more information to be available and accessible. This is the first step to the digital transformation we are undertaking in the Commission to speed up our processes and allow more predictability in regulation.

Pass-through costs are amounts collected by DUs, which include electric cooperatives and private utilities, for charges other than the distribution charge or the payment for use of the DUs facilities.

The delegates were welcome by Engr. Jovel B. Ubay-Ubay, General Manager of MORESCO-1; Atty. Janeene Depay-Colingan, PHILRECA Executive Director and General Manager; and Atty. Alexis Lumbatan, ERC Commissioner.

Comprehensive HEART FUND Program Policy Enhanced for the benefit of MCOs

MCO federated leaders from different Districts gather at The MORESCO-1 Bard Room today, March 21, 2023 to be briefed on the latest development of the Heart Fund program among others.

The unwavering commitment of MORESCO-1 in extending support beyond the service of electricity to its Member-Consumer-Owners capitulates MORESCO-1 every year.

In 2021 it shelled out Php 1,558,000.00 to 734 beneficiaries of the Heart Fund Program. Though MORESCO-1 operates as a non-stock, not-profit electric cooperative it manages to continuously squeeze its resources and find ways on how to extend assistance during the inevitable death of its member even in the second year and into the third year of the pandemic.

The MCO Heart Fund Association Policy was adopted pursuant to the resolution passed by the general membership during the conduct of the virtual sequential district and franchise-wide assembly in 2021 and presented again in AGMA 2022.

Member Customer Development Chief Rio Vallejo, aside from the Comprehensive continuing discussion of the MCO Heart Fund Policy also rolled out orientation for the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Heart Fund and setting the BOT election.

The constant petitions of the members in every opportunity where they can voice-out their opinions to cover not just the less fortunate senior citizens but instead all members of the coop prompted the Board and Management to revisit the program.
