“Team Raccoon” Graduates as Pioneers of William T. Crisp Foundation’s Re-offered Lineman Training

Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental – The first batch of linemen under the re-offered Lineman Training Program of William T. Crisp Foundation, Inc. (WTCFI), the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of MORESCO-1, officially graduated on February 4, 2025. Dubbed Team Raccoon, the graduates successfully completed the rigorous training designed to equip them with essential skills in electrical power distribution line construction.

The graduation ceremony, held at the MORESCO-1 Training Center, began with welcome remarks from WTCFI Executive Director Jovan P. Yangyang, emphasizing the foundation’s commitment to empowering local workforce development.

Engr. Marlon P. Guinita, representing Acting General Manager Jovel B. Ubay-Ubay, PEE, delivered an inspirational message, commending the trainees for their dedication and perseverance in completing the program.

A highlight of the event was the pole climbing exhibition and a special dance presentation by Team Raccoon, showcasing both their technical skills and camaraderie.

Outstanding graduates were recognized for their excellence in practical skills, followed by a keynote message from Albert Benedict F. Bacus, President of the Board of Trustees. Training Director Engr. Remegio B. Gonzales, PEE, PhD, also delivered his message, underscoring the program’s role in producing highly skilled linemen for the country’s power sector.

The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from Engr. Ronaldo Maghuyop, who emphasized the importance of safety, discipline, and continuous learning in the field.

The Lineman Training Program, aligned with TESDA’s Electrical Power Distribution Line Construction NC II (EPDLC NC II) certification, is a three-to-six-month intensive course that covers theoretical instruction, hands-on training, and real-world field simulations. The success of Team Raccoon paves the way for future batches to benefit from this initiative, strengthening the electric cooperative sector with well-trained linemen.

Congratulations to Team Raccoon, the trailblazers of WTCFI’s re-offered lineman training program!
