Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental — From August 7-8, 2024, the National Electrification Administration, in collaboration with PHILRECA and MORESCO-1, hosted a comprehensive Training Workshop on Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) for Mindanao Electric Cooperatives (ECs). This event aims to enhance the technological capabilities of ECs, paving the way for smarter grid distribution and improved utility management.

Part I: SMARTGRID Distribution Utility Roadmap

Part II: SCADA Overview
- What is SCADA and Substation Automation: An introduction to the system and its automation.

Part III: Workshop – How Ready is Your EC for SCADA?
- Assessment of Hardware: Participants will list and group the following for each substation:
- Substation Name
- Number of Power Transformers
- Primary and Secondary Protection
- Number of Feeders
- Number of Recloser/LBS
Part IV: Prioritization of SCADA Implementation
- Phased Approach: Example phases for substation implementation.
- Equipment Specifications: Identifying types, brands, and specifications of necessary equipment like PLCs, relays, and DNP3.
