The National Electrification Administration (NEA) has recognized the Philippine Association of Institutional Managers (PHILAIM) for its pivotal role in advancing rural electrification. PHILAIM’s collaboration with NEA in spearheading the “Kwento ng Liwanag sa Pag-ibig” a AVP Production Competition on Far-Flung Households Electrification Program thru SEP-which has significantly contributed to energizing households in the countryside.

This prestigious award was presented during NEA’s 55th Anniversary celebration at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City on August 31, 2024, as part of the annual NEA–Electric Cooperatives (EC) Convergence. The event highlighted key milestones in the nation’s electrification efforts.

NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano C. Almeda personally handed the award to PHILAIM National President Edna S. Putian-Diango, JD. Diango, who currently serves as the Acting General Manager of MORESCO-2 and heads the Institutional Services Department of MORESCO-1, was recognized for her exemplary leadership and commitment to expanding access to electricity in underserved areas.

The partnership between NEA and PHILAIM underscores the critical importance of institutional collaboration in achieving electrification targets, uplifting communities, and driving economic growth in rural areas.

The Sitio Electrification Program has been instrumental in bringing sustainable power to remote locations, furthering the government’s aim to ensure energy accessibility for all Filipinos and President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s thrust for Total Electrification by 2028.
