ADVISORY: CALL FOR ASPIRING MORESCO-1 DIRECTORS

To all interested Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs):

Please be informed that District Elections for the Board of Directors of MORESCO-1 are scheduled for the following areas this year:

JUNE 2025 Elections – Alubijid, Naawan, Gitagum, and Lugait

SEPTEMBER 2025 Election – Laguindingan

If you are interested in running for the position of Director, please be guided accordingly.

Qualifications and Disqualifications

Interested MCOs are advised to review the qualifications and disqualifications set by MORESCO-1 and NEA Guidelines before filing their Certificate of Candidacy (COC).

MORESCO-1 ADVISORY – FIVE DISTRICTS SET FOR 2025 DISTRICT DIRECTORS’ ELECTION

By virtue of MORESCO-1 Board Resolution No. 2025-0121-08, Series of 2025, entitled “Resolution Adopting the Proposed Dates of Schedule for the 2025 District Elections of MORESCO-1, Subject to the Approval of the National Electrification Administration (NEA),” and Board Resolution No. 2025-0319-19, Series of 2025, entitled “Resolution Seeking a Motion for Reconsideration to the National Electrification Administration (NEA) on the Extension of District Election for Laguindingan,” the NEA has approved the conduct of special elections in the following districts:

  • District VIII – Alubijid: June 7, 2025
  • District III – Naawan: June 14, 2025
  • District VI – Gitagum: June 21, 2025
  • District I – Lugait: June 28, 2025
  • District VII – Laguindingan: September 13, 2025

Elected Board Directors shall immediately assume office upon taking their oath and will serve the remaining portion of the three-year term. Regular elections will resume as scheduled under the MORESCO-1 By-Laws thereafter.

The following documents and notices will be disseminated accordingly:

  1. Official Announcement of District Elections
  2. Advisory on the Independence of the Board of Directors and Officials of Electric Cooperatives
  3. Advisory on the Qualifications of a Director (Pursuant to Section 26-B)

District-specific calendars of election-related activities will be posted on the MORESCO-1 WebM1, official Facebook page, and other social media platforms. Additionally, relevant information and documentary requirements will be displayed in conspicuous areas within the concerned districts.
