NOVEMBER 15, 2022 Luxxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro — In the light of the recent increase in the effective electricity rates which has been brought to the attention of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), 55 executives from distribution utilities in region X were directed to efficiently utilize the contracted capacities from their existing Power Supply Agreements (PSAs), in compliance with the continuing obligation to supply in the least cost manner to its captive customers in their respective areas. The meet – ERC-Region X DU Power Supply Agreement Caravan held today in Luxe Hotel in Limketkai Complex in Cagayan de Oro is one venue to monitor the continuing compliance of these DUs by the Commission.
Corollary, the ERC aims to provide through this Caravan a venue for these DUs to discuss their issues and concernjs relative to their PSA. Thru this Caravan, the ERC would be able to efficiently address all issues encountered by the these utilities attendant to their PSAs.
Attendees present were representatives from the following DUs and electric cooperatives (1) Bukidnon Second Electric Cooperative, Inc. – BUSECO; (2) Camiguin Electric Cooperative, Inc. – CAMELCO; (3) Cagayan Electric Power and Light Cio., Inc. – CEPALCO; (4) First Bukidnon Electric Cooperative, Inc – FIBECO; (5) Iligan Light and Power, Inc. -ILPI; (6) Lanao del Norte Electric Cooperative, Inc. LANECO; (7) Misamis Occidental I Electric Cooperative, Inc. -MOELCI 1; (8) Misamis Occidental II Electric Cooperative, Inc. -MOELCI 2; (9) Misamis Oriental 1 Rural Electric Service Cooperative, Inc. – MORESCO-1; and (10) Misamis Oriental 2 Rural Electric Service Cooperative, Inc. – MORESCO-2.
ERC Chair person Commissioner Monalisa Dimalanta conducted PSA Caravan Discussion with DU (both private and cooperative) in view of this unprecedented power rate hike. The caravan focuses on the alternatives that our respective distribution utilities may take and likewise provide avenues on the following concerns.
