MORESCO-1 employees observe spiritual significance of the Holy Week with a series of uplifting pre-Lenten recollection

In observance of the Lenten season where Christian believers are called to reawaken one’s spiritual journey in general, the employees of MORESCO-1 joined together for a moment of reflection and renewal of commitment in a series of recollection held at the EPTC Function Hall in Laguindingan started yesterday March 30 for Recollection 1, today March 31 for Recollection 2 and on Monday, April 3 for Recollection 3. This is from 8 AM to 5 PM in all the 3 sessions.

A time for contemplation and renewal of faith to commemorate the paschal mystery of the Son of God, the Lenten recollection master- Senior Pastor & Founder of Freed Generation – Ptr Herbert C. Ares, known by his innate gift to uplift the flock through his sense of humor and personality, shared his personal experiences and spiritual reflections to the managers, division and section heads and rank and file employees  who responded with uproarious laughter to his knockout jokes. The one speaking for Self Image/Inner Healing is Ma. Ethyl T. Locop; Freedom From Bondage – Rhea Joy D. Monte, and Thank You Lord For Your Forgiveness – Rodner Gulmatico.

“Recollection means to talk to God and to be with God, thus, satan will make use of his power to distract, mislead and destroy our faith but God taught and showed us on how to defeat the evil by using our own capacity through our sacrifices and our willingness to suffer and die”.

Challenged to do the will of God by taking up the cross in each passing day without any reluctance, the employees were also reminded by the Lenten recollection master to refrain from the habit of complaining in the workplace and to put into practice the habit of prayer life and total submission.

Having been nourished with the word of God coupled with the challenge to renew and repent in the time of lent, a eucharistic celebration followed after the reawakening talk, as the source and summit of the Christian life.

Driven to work with passion and gratitude that God has kept nothing back by sending His beloved Son who died and rose again to save the world, the MORESCO-1-held Lenten recollection was one of the highlights of the season rooted from the awareness that salvation is for all, just as God’s unfailing love for everyone is proclaimed by every sunrise.

CAPITALIZING ON CAPABILITIES : MORESCO-1’s journey to MCO Transformation – with fun

What people respect about the companies is not how they are structured or their specific approaches to management, but their capabilities—an ability to innovate, for example, or to respond to changing customer needs. And this time, amidst the fast-changing challenges in the Philippine power industry sector, the WESM, EPIRA,  and the like, electric cooperatives must strengthen its MCO communities, and this time, thru the strength of their own organic structure- its employees (organic, project base, contracted). They are our organizational capabilities, our key intangible assets.

Through the fun and innovative capability building rolled out by Dr. Dixon Yasay, a renown inspirational speaker on strategy and policy communication and community organizing, he presented a fun and creativity-stimulating exercises where he involved participants in a dialogue without diluting the message using nontraditional methods to measure value. The series of MORESCO-1 MCO Transformation CapDev for all employees ended Wednesday, March 29.

Dr. Yasay clearly said during one of the sessions that leaders must intuitively recognize the benefit of developing people’s capabilities. And not only that, most have difficulty understanding the value of MCO community assemblies. For one thing, the effects of barangay assemblies are often delayed. For another, results generally appear in the work of teams and departments service areas, not in the communities themselves. And it’s often hard to determine whether a great idea that surfaced during the barangay assemblies would have bubbled up to the District level and acted upon.

The CapDev was only part of the journey of transformation as one must be involved to know how our MCOs perceive us as individual and as an institution. One is to assess the value of a community of practice is by listening to our MCOs’ stories.
