BON NEIL E. SOFOCADO, A NEWBIE, ELECTED DIRECTOR FOR MORESCO-1’S DISTRICT 5-LIBERTAD

LIBERTAD, MISAMIS ORIENTAL. Bon Neil Emia Sofocado, a single young businessman and currently running a string of businesses in Libertad, Misamis Oriental is the newest member of the Board of Directors of MORESCO-1 in an uncontested election today morning June 10, 2023 at the Libertad National High School.

The 29 year-old Sofocado, nicknamed Bonel will not only be the newest but also the youngest so far in the 55 year old EC’s history. A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) from Saint Paul’s University in Dumaguete City, Director Sofocado will replace the post of former Board member Alan M. Sofocado, who ended his term as of May 30, 2023.

The lone candidate of the district, he was inducted to the office by the District Election Committee (DECOM) composed of Chairman Anthony Y. Pacamalan; Secretary Ric D. Gabe; and Marcel Tagalogon in the presence of the MORESCO-1 BOD President Director Nonito M. Labis, GM Jovel B. Ubay-ubay, and Institutional Services Department Head and concurrently Acting General Manager of MORESCO-2 Edna S. Putian-Diango, JD and a few local politicians of Libertad.

District elections in MORESCO-1 are run by the DECOM and the Service Area Offices holding jurisdiction over the district, logistically managed by the Institutional Services Department team of M1, supervised and monitored by the National Electrification Administration (NEA).

ENGR. EDGAR G. BUHIAN, RE-ELECTED DIRECTOR FOR MORESCO-1’S DISTRICT 4-INITAO

Edgar Galarpe Buhian, a Geodetic Engineer by profession and currently running his own survey and geodetic service business and managing a agriculture training facility in Initao, Misamis Oriental was re-elected yesterday, June 3, 2023 in Initao National Comprehensive High School.

Married to Nemia Penita Aubal and currently resides at Purok 9, Poblacion, Initao, Loloy, as he is called by friends and relatives is a member-consumer-owner (MCO) of MORESCO-1 since 1997.

He used to work with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 10.
