CALAANAN, CANITOAN, CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY | October 24, 2025 — Joy, rhythm, and light filled the Zone 5 Calaanan–Canitoan Covered Court as MORESCO-1, through the Sitio Electrification Program (SEP), formally turned over MCO Certificates to beneficiary households — officially transferring ownership of housewiring materials, meters, and other paraphernalia energized during 2023–2024. These newly electrified communities now stand as bright symbols of progress, partnership, and hope.
The event was both a literal and symbolic celebration of light. Residents witnessed the switching-on ceremony that marked their journey from darkness to illumination — a collective step toward inclusion and development. The ever-vibrant M1 Powerdance set the stage aglow with their lively performance, embodying the community’s shared spirit of unity and celebration.
Barangay Captain Hon. Lancelot Padla opened the ceremony with heartfelt gratitude to MORESCO-1 for its unwavering commitment to electrifying even the most remote sitios and puroks of Canitoan. Messages of support followed from Congressman Maximo “Maxie” Rodriguez of ABAMIN Party-list, Cagayan de Oro City Vice Mayor Jocelyn “Bebot” Rodriguez, represented by Mr. Pete Vamenta, MORESCO-1 Board President Joy Gil S. Mahinay, General Manager Engr. Collen B. Tarcelo, and Director Ritchie Veluz, Board Director for Opol, Four Barangays (CDO), and Talakag District caretaker.

One of the event’s most memorable moments was the Ceremonial Turnover of the Certificate of Completion and Symbolic Energization, led by Congressman Rodriguez, President Mahinay, GM Tarcelo, Dir. Veluz, Hon. Padla, and the sitio beneficiaries. This milestone did not merely signify the completion of infrastructure — it symbolized the empowerment of communities and the realization of their long-awaited dream of access to power.
The SEP 2022 projects in Canitoan began in 2022 and reached full energization between late 2023 and early 2024. Today’s ceremony stood as both a formal turnover and a symbolic culmination of MORESCO-1’s continuing mission to light every home and empower every household under its service coverage.
In his closing message, Engr. Ray S. Cagubcub, MORESCO-1 Opol Service Area (OSA) Manager, underscored the greater meaning of the initiative:
