2023 Fire Prevention Month: Promoting Collective Effort and Safety

MORESCO-1  takes safety seriously, and this March, it is one with the nation in observing Fire Prevention Month.

The theme for this year’s observance is “Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi Ka Nag-iisa” (You are not alone in preventing fires), which emphasizes the importance of collective effort in preventing fires and ensuring the safety of employees and the community they serve.

Last Wednesday, March 1,  the Bureau of Fire Protection, together with MORESCO-1 and other local government agencies, held a motorcade around the municipality of Laguindingan to celebrate Fire Prevention Month and spread awareness in the community.

As partners of the community, let us remember that fire prevention is everyone’s responsibility. By taking steps to raise awareness and educate others, you can help prevent fires and keep your community safe.

As an electric cooperative committed to safety, MORESCO-1 is actively participating in Fire Prevention Month by strengthening its year-round campaign for fire prevention and protection. Through various initiatives and programs, MORESCO-1 is working to educate its employees and the public on fire safety and prevention, promote responsible behavior and encourage everyone to be prepared in case of a fire emergency.

The observance of Fire Prevention Month is based on Presidential Proclamation No. 115-A, which designates March as a time to raise awareness and promote fire safety throughout the country. MORESCO-1 recognizes that fire prevention is a shared responsibility and encourages everyone to take simple precautions and practice fire safety at all times.

With a commitment to safety and participation in important advocacies like Fire Prevention Month, MORESCO-1 is making a difference in ensuring the safety of its employees and the people in its surrounding communities.

PUBLIC ADVISORY ON FIXING, UNSCRUPULOUS PEDDLING AND COLLECTION

The Misamis Oriental-1 Rural Electric Service Cooperative, Inc. (MORESCO-1) issues this Advisory to warn its MCOs and the general public concerning the rampant selling and promotion of Energy-Saving Devices or ESDs to reduce electric bills by trying to paint a negative image of MORESCO-1 as being the cause of high power rates.

We would like to inform everyone that these activities tend to deceive our energy consumers and promote the personal interests of these unscrupulous peddlers. To verify their claim for efficiency, consumers should ask from these sellers a test result coming from the DOE regarding their ESD .

As to other acts considered as “fixing” transactions with MORESCO-1 and collection of fees or power bill payments in behalf of MORESCO-1 , this is strictly prohibited by MORESCO-1 and futher issues this advisory in the light of recent reports received that there are individuals who are collecting fees from our MCOs.

MORESCO-1 advises the public to transact only with our Service Area Offices and pay through our Authorized Paying Stations or thru authorized online payment partners.
