September 8, 2026 | Brgy. Mauswagon, Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental โ MORESCO-1 conducted a Sitio Electrification Program (SEP) Community Consultation in Sitio Upper Liyang, Barangay Mauswagon, Laguindingan, bringing another underserved community a step closer to gaining access to reliable electricity.
The consultation gathered 22 prospective household beneficiaries and served as an important preparatory activity for the proposed electrification of the sitio. The discussion provided residents with information on the requirements, processes, responsibilities, and necessary coordination leading toward the eventual energization of qualified households.
The activity was attended by Punong Barangay Christobal Bustamante, MORESCO-1 District Director Bobby Jaramillo, Laguindingan Service Area (LSA) CWO Ms. Algen Andam, electricians, and community beneficiaries.
During the consultation, MORESCO-1 representatives discussed the steps that beneficiaries need to undertake in preparation for electrification, including household wiring requirements, electrical safety, documentation, and coordination with the barangay and the Cooperative. The activity also provided an opportunity for residents to raise questions and clarify concerns regarding the implementation of the program.
The Sitio Electrification Program supports the continuing national rural electrification effort to extend electricity services to communities and households that remain unserved or underserved. At the community level, consultations are essential in ensuring that beneficiaries understand the requirements and that implementation is properly coordinated among MORESCO-1, local officials, electricians, and residents.
For the 22 households of Sitio Upper Liyang, the consultation represents an important step toward the realization of electricity accessโa development expected to contribute to safer homes, improved opportunities for education and livelihood, and better quality of life for families in the community.
