Good day to our beloved Member-Consumer-Owners of MORESCO-1, especially to the MCOs in District 8, ALUBIJID.

Following the deliberation of our Screening Committee for the Election of Representatives to the Board of Directors of our District 8 (ALUBIJID), scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, MARCH 9, 2024, we inform you that no one has submitted their Letters of Intent to Run. Thus, we have not identified any Qualified Candidate to run and be elected as Board of Director – hence, this is declared as a FAILURE OF ELECTION.

The MORESCO-1 Screening Committee composed of members from the Management Committee of MORESCO-1 from the Engineering Services Department, Finance Services Department, and led by the Institutional Services Manager, the department mandated to oversee election-related activities in the Cooperative under the mandate of NEA Memo No. 2014-019 – 2014 Guidelines on the Conduct of EC District Election for Electric Cooperatives, Dated 01 July 2014, Section 13.2.2 stating “In no less than seven (7) days before the election, the Screening Committee shall prepare the duly certified candidates and officially inform all applicants accordingly.”

SINCE WE HAVE NO OPTION FOR AN ELECTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPROVED SCHEDULE OF DISTRICT ELECTION BY THE NATIONAL ELECTRIFICATION ADMINISTRATION (NEA), WE WILL SEND A PROPOSAL OR SUGGESTION REGARDING THE CONDUCT OF ANOTHER ELECTION SO THAT THE DISTRICT 8 CAN ELECT A DIRECTOR TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF MORESCO-1.

FOR NOW, WE WILL ONLY AWAIT THE DECISION OF NEA ON THE NEXT SCHEDULE OF ELECTIONS FOR ALUBIJD DISTRICT.

Thank you very much for your understanding.
